Local community TV station Channel 7 welcomed 28 Oasis Academy Students into the studio for an as-live production of youth programme ‘Voxx’. Voxx, aimed at young people aged 13-18 entering its third series, set-up home at the Oasis Academy for the week.
Students were invited to take part in various workshops run by CPO Media. These included interview techniques, blogging, enterprise and print media. Students from The Grimsby Institute were given the opportunity to gain invaluable professional practice as part of the Voxx production with Channel 7 extending this opportunity to Oasis students.
Oasis students were invited to participate on the show, either as contestants in the show Voxx Challenge or featured in short films incorporated into the shows format, this was a unique opportunity for both the Oasis Academy students and The Grimsby Institute students. The Voxx crew will replicate the experience gained by Oasis students throughout the next few months—going out into other local schools and academies. The show featuring Oasis students will be aired shortly after Easter.
