7:Twenty performances a stunning success

Seven:20 performance challenge days - Yr 10, 11, 12 and 13 Acting students will be set the challenge of starting the performance process at 7.20am and performing the end result at 7.20pm to an audience – 720 minutes is all they have! Who will they work with? What will they think of? How will they cope with the pressure? Where will the ideas come from?

The two 7:Twenty days gave our Gifted and Talented Acting students the opportunity to create a whole performance in one day and work with new people. Discussing, planning, rehearsing, developing, performing and evaluating these performances was an exciting challenge which both the students and their audiences enjoyed. Performances ranged from exploring how human senses affect how we live our lives to how super heroes deal with having super powers. The exhausting, yet rewarding days were all part of the Level 3 Acting course Devising Plays unit.

Acting student quotes

I was dreading the Seven:20 day, but after a lot of hard work and help from our amazing teachers meant we all seemed to get through it alive, and it even turned out to be fun. S.Tennyson

I think the concept of doing a Seven:20 day was a brillant way of challenging our creativity and skills learnt in drama to the maximum. S. Webster

The Seven:20 day was a great experience and I had an amazing day. Our stimulus was a model ear and from the start of the day our group was a strong and we all worked well as a group together. L.Pearce

I enjoyed doing the Seven: 20 day because not only did we have to create an idea that day we had to perform it that day as well which was very challenging for me and my fellow students. It’s also a chance to use many different drama skills and life skills as there are times when you will need to step up and lead the group then there will be times when you will need to compromise with the group to create your performance. D. Hanton

We used an old camera as our stimulus, we showed how one magazine can change and influence five people in so many different ways. my favourite part of the whole process was that we got to work with new people and age ranges as well as combine all our talents and ideas to create something brand new, I also enjoyed not knowing anything about what we was doing until the day. I think that Seven:20 is a great idea to flow ideas between different years and to get the most out of Level 3 Acting in one day. L. Riba

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
