Exam Results Day News

For the fourth consecutive year Oasis Academy Immingham has seen significant improvements in their G.C.S.E. results.

46% of students have passed 5 A* - C grades including English and Maths, a record for the Academy and the town of Immingham.  94% achieved at least 5 grades of C or above and the majority made at least three levels of progress in Maths and English.

Deputy Principal Richard Briggs said ‘I am incredibly proud of the efforts that our team of dedicated staff have made once again.  Combined with the hard work of the fantastic students we have in Immingham this has once more resulted in record-breaking results.  We have more than trebled our G.C.S.E. results over the last four years for the number of students who have achieved 5A*-C grades including Maths and English from 14% to 46%.  This is no flash in the pan but shows our Academy is making sustained and rapid progress and building a reputation as one of the most improved schools in the region.

Combined with our ‘A’ Level results last week where 100% of students passed all their qualifications and every student achieved their first choice of University, we are demonstrating that we provide high quality education for all of our students.

The statistic I am most proud of is that 94% of our Year 11s - nearly every student who attended this school regularly - have left with at least five G.C.S.E. grades of C or above.  This means that they can access virtually all courses at our Sixth Form or a different College and be eligible for any apprenticeship.  We know that our Academy has given them the best possible start in life and we hope that the values that we stand for and the self-belief that we give them will enable them to become assets to our communities.’

Jessica Lea, who achieved 4 A* and 8 A grades, said ‘I am really proud of my results.  I worked really hard but couldn’t have achieved these results without the help of my fantastic teachers.’

Tom Petchey, who achieved A/A* grades in five of his G.C.S.E. subjects as well as a B grade in his AS Level Maths despite only being in Y11, said ‘I am staying on at this Academy for my ‘A’ Level subjects because I know they will push me and stretch me to achieve the best grades and I know being here will give me the best chance of getting to the University I want.’

Academy Principal Kevin Rowlands, was equally delighted. “We have demonstrated a commitment to ensuring every child who attends this Academy achieves and are extremely proud of the success of our young people. The effort and hard work of the students has been rewarded and they have all opened a wide range of opportunities that means they can look forward to a successful future”.

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
