Projects Update
New Year projects starting or looking to start here at the Academy:
- Wednesdays 4-6pm - Young Carers (NELC) open to Y7 & Y8 who care for family members who may be ill or have a health disability
- Fridays 3-4pm – Youth Crime Prevention Project (Includes support from Police, FIP, NELC) eight young people aged 8-12 years have been identified showing signs of crime & anti social behaviour
- Mondays 3.30-6.30 – Youth Work Training Level 1 delivered to 6th form students and members of the community (supported by VANEL)
- Warhammer Club – Friday 3-4pm (delivered by threesixty’s and supported by library staff)
- Christian Lunchtime club, Every Wednesday (delivered by threesixty’s & Methodist Church Circuit)
- Oasis Church Immingham – Prayer meeting every Sunday 6.30-8pm (supported by Methodist Church Circuit)
- Community Alpha starting Feb 25th, 6.30-8pm (Supported by Methodist Church Circuit & Sowing Seed Ministries)
- Duke of Edinburgh - Manger of young people’s service will deliver assemblies on Wed 27th , Thu 28th & Fri 29th Jan to promote D of E. If we have a positive response from Y9, Y10 & Y11 students D of E will deliver the service here at the Academy.
- Boxing Project – the project has been allocated another £13,000 to help launch again ASAP (regular meeting with all agencies involved)
Ongoing Projects
- Immingham Young Peoples Support Centre – joint positive activities for young people
- Youth Crime Prevention Programme in partnership with Immingham Police and Family Intervention Programme (FIP)
- Regeneration Officer, Shoreline Housing Partnership
Students involved in questions and steering group to raise funding and projects for Immingham area. - Youth & Community Training NVQ Level 1 & 2 for staff and students (N E Lincs Council & VANEL)
- Trinity & Keelby Methodist Church – Joint partnership for Pantomime, Christian Youth & Community Activities - Academy choir are performing regular at Trinity Methodist Church
- Youth Bank - Young People’s Service Already received £470 towards Carnival & Parade & £1,300 towards after school and community projects

The overall winner of the ‘Award for Best in the Parade’ went to the Oasis Academy;
- Creative Art Project - 6th form student were asked by Immingham Town Council to tidy up some council building by creative art. The Students created a jungle scene on the wall in a local park called Homestead Park. It’s based on their Graffiti project in their Btec Diploma qualification. The whole image took them 4 working school days which they had to prime, sketch and paint on the detail to get their final result.

- One Voice
One Voice is a ‘Community Engagement Group’ with a balanced and representative committee, where ‘partner agencies’ work together with local residents and communities to improve local services and meet local priorities. One Voice aims to promote & contribute to the physical, social & economic regeneration of the community; raise & promote a positive profile of the area; develop lines of communication between the community and partner agencies; secure better value for money through smarter investment and simplified delivery chains; and identify ways in which to improve & protect both the local natural & built environment.
