Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

Our House System

In order to create a sense of community, provide exceptional pastoral care and evoke some healthy competition amongst students and staff, Oasis Academy Immingham operates a House System.

Students are organised into three houses, each representing an inspiring person. Each house icon has made a significant and long-lasting contribution to society and reflect the attributes we strive to instil in our young individuals at Oasis Academy Immingham.

All our Year 11 students are in one of the three houses. As we know that Year 11 is a year of great transition, hard work and life choices, we also have a Head of Year 11 to provide the specialist guidance and support that our Year 11 students require.

Students are placed in to tutor groups and two tutor groups in each year are in each House. Our students proudly wear their house colour ties to show which house they belong to. Our students are also given the opportunity to represent their house in a wide range of activities including; house debates, inter-house sports competitions, Maths Challenge, English spelling Bee and House quizzes. The vast selection of events reflects our intention to make our house system holistic and engaging; we aim to give everyone the chance to shine. Another important focus of the house system is raising money for charity; students take part in house charity events throughout the year for their nominated charity. Students are also given the opportunity to develop their leadership skills within the house system. Students can apply for the prestigious roles of Chair and Vice Chair of the Student Leadership Team who are at the forefront of all events and provide one of the vehicles for student voice to be heard. Students can also become Form Leaders. We are very proud of House System at OAI and aim to make every member of our community feel a sense of belonging and pride every time they enter through our school gates.
